Sundays Online: Joining the 52 Rolls in 2016 Project

I've opted in to the 52 Rolls Project for 2016.  And As a Tribute to Holga, it will be a Holga Project as well:

I will also use this opportunity to use up those rolls of CR200 that might yield unexpected results. That way I can call it "Experimental".  And you see also my EMULSIVE Secret Santa Gift (Thanks Isaac in Boise), a Holga Fisheye Lens, that I will be using.

Below:  A set of Holga Special Effects Lenses that I bought years ago thinking it was a good Idea, and then never used.  They will also make an appearance for the Project.

So that gives me a lot to work with, and I only need 12-shots a week.
I'm posting this ahead of New Year's Day so you can check it out and decide f you want to opt in.

Portrait Psych Test Part 5: The Selfie

I didn't call the Rollei Image a selfie, because that would be an insult.  I think of Selfie's as quickie images made with low-tech cameras and cell phone cameras:

What Does a Portrait Really Say About Us?

A Picture may be worth 1000 words.  But what are those words really saying about the Subject?  And What are those words saying about the Photographer?

View an Interesting Experiment that reveals those 1000 words may tell us more about the Photographer than the subject.......

I'll be posting a series of Portraits of Me, taken by my husband & Some Self Portraits.  Each one tells a different part of my recent life story.........What do you think this one is telling you?

From 2010: A little out of focus because I was experimenting with IR Film.
More on that later.

Comments and responses appreciated.  This is my Portraiture Psych Test.......

Rollei CR 200 Film Test Part 2

A follow-up.  I found the more recent images testing the 120 film.  These are of course a different Film Lot because this is 120 rather than 35mm.  The colors are uncorrected and close to normal.  White clouds are white, not yellow.

All out of focus images are the responsibility of the photographer....

Rollei CR200 Film Test

I had reported some time ago purchasing some Rollei CR200 E-6 film.  Then I found an old set of film test images, which I had never posted. So Here we go, with a Caveat that my Friends at OldSchoolPhotoLab had warned me about inconsistent results.  You see the film is repackaged from a number of sources.  So you never really know what you are getting, and my original test results show that.  Images were taken with a pair of Minolta X-700 cameras:

First a 'true color' image from one of my favorite now dead Kodak Films E100VS:

Right out of the Scanner Rollei CR 200 Image:

Rollei CR200 color corrected in Photoshop (below). Close, but still yellowish.  This suggests that the film was not stored under ideal conditions.

I will follow-up with more CR200 images soon.  And hey, if you like experimenting with expired film it's fine.  That's what I will be doing with my remaining rolls.

Sundays Online: Holga Say It Ain't So!

I sadly report rumors of the Demise of Holga:

End of an era and a fun way to experiment with medium format photography!
We do still have the Diana.  And I think competition from Lomo Products and Support
for its users was part of Holga's downfall.

The 11th Hour: Veteran's Day

At the 11th Hour on the 11th Day of the 11th Month, the Horror of  World War I came to an end.  In the U.S., after WWII we renamed Armistice Day as Veteran's Day.

I am growing a field of Flanders Poppies to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day and the end of WWI.  A forgotten war in a forgotten time.  But if we learned more about it, we might be able to avoid the next round.

Raptor Education Foundation: How Could I Forget This Guy!

OOOOPS!  One more bird to post.  And how could I forget one of my favorites,  The Turkey Buzzard:

Above with the Curator, Anne, this guy was flight capable.  he ended up at the rescue because he refused to leave humans behind and live a wild life (he had been raised as a rescue).
