#filmjune Catch-Up Part 3
Questions 11-15:
11. What made you first pick up Ilford Film and start shooting with it?
12. Best find at a second hand or charity store: Purchased from Goodwill online.....
13. Do you frame and hang your own work at home? Yes, but oddly I really haven't photographed my home gallery. Just this one photo from Ash Wednesday......
14. Have you tried CineStill Film? No, but I have some in my film fridge. Just haven't had the interest. When Kodak E110G makes it's return at the end of the year, I'll probably give it away!
15. Were do you buy your film stock? Freestyle Photo Supplies in L.A.

Yellowstone: Excelsior Spring
Adjacent to the Grand Prismatic Spring, you have to pass it to get to the main attraction. But let's pause and give the Excelsior Spring some Love......
Above, runoff from Excelsior Geyser and Below, Excelsior Overlook.
Follow the link to learn more, but an eruption in 1888
basically turned the Geyser into a Spring.
Steam from Grand Prismatic Spring in the background.
From the Overlook: Sunrise over Excelsior
And Final views of the algae and bacteria around Grand Prismatic Spring.

Yellowstone: Orange Mound
Wrapping up my trip through Yellowstone over the next couple of days. As you remember I had a major camera failure of the XD-11 on the trip. So I'm missing a lot of the images I shot. But here goes with images from the Mamiya-7.
Mammoth Hot springs has changed a lot since I first visited in1981. I think it was prettier than, but the hydrology of the Springs does change over time, and with the recent earthquakes especially.
But we took a different trail and found a very interesting Spring: The Orange Mound,

Yellowstone: Fire Hole River Trail
"Trail" of Algae flowing away from a small geyser.
I think, next time I will spend more time on the algae and bacteria.
Fire Hole Spring and Lake.

Yellowstone Algae
The Hot Springs are home to algae/bacteria that thrive in the mineral rich hot water. I thought this single image speaks for itself:

Grand Prismatic Sunrise
We 'out smarted' ourselves by heading out early to the Grand Prismatic Spring.....We avoided the crowds but had so much steam due to the temperature contrast, that the Spring was hard to see.....
Approaching the Spring (Above).
And the View from the edge (Below).

Yellowstone: Old Faithful
Working our way backwards through my recent trip to Wyoming, with our Journey through Yellowstone National Park. We started at Hear Mountain, which was actually our last stop........
What trip to Yellowstone would be complete without Old Faithful! So I begin my Yellowstone Postings with an Old Faithful Eruption:

Walker Ranch: 35 mm
Finishing up the week with a few exterior shots in 35 mm. We start with an Overview shot. The White house on the right is the 'modern' ranch house. It is now the residence of the Open Space Chief Ranger. That's partly why access to this site is restricted. But having someone on sie also protects from vandalism.
And the back side of the original Homestead House with our guide for scale:
Two images of Donald setting up his shots:
The Hay Barn, with detail of the Door.
Finally, some roof damage on the Hay Barn addition.
This will post as Week #35 on the 52 Rolls Project.
