Yes our Favorite Craft Brew Purveyor had Advent Beer Calendars.  We couldn't resist!

Civic Duty: Water Testing

We were selected to collect tap water from our house for analysis.  Our City published water quality reports, but we never knew where the data came from.  Let your plumbing stand at least 6 hours without drawing water (so overnight) and draw first water in the morning:

Early August Garden Update

They just keep coming.  Last night we ate our first Thai Green Eggplants:

And the Squash are thriving too!

But all of my tomatoes are still green

Final Fall Harvest

In contrast to the warm day on Friday, we have our usual early October Freeze that brought an end to a not so great gardening year.  So I had harvested everything that was ripe the day before the Freeze:

The tomatoes were a bust this year.  I tried some new varieties that just didn't work.  

Going back to the drawing board for next year.

Belated Thanksgiving Post

With ongoing renovations we spent a quiet Thanksgiving.  Hope you had a grand time!


The star of our show was a yummy Heritage Turkey.  Small but very tasty......

Garden Prep

The Gardening Preparation area is snowbound.......I've already planted lettuce in my little shaded habitats.  I'll have to see if they have sprouted.....hopefully not!
