No Garden Bounty.......

This Year started well, but towards the end my Garden was beset by a plethora of garden pests.  So I have a decent harvest, but nothing like Last Year:

But I'm already planning for next year.  Changing up some of the veggies that I'll be growing; much more variety.

In Remembrance: Flanders Poppy

As a Remembrance for WWI  I am cultivating a bed of Flanders Poppies.  A few this year and hopefully a good bunch by 2018.  These bloomed a while ago, but today I harvested the seeds:

Solargraphy Update

A bit disappointing as I captured only part of the solstice.  Evidently I did not have a high enough angle on my solargram positions.  But the Placement within the yard was good.  So I will try that spot again.

The location got a bit overgrown and you can see the vegetation in the image below.  I was also unaware that one of the anchor points had broken, placing the angle of the mage out of position.  But you can see the sun streaks below.

Saturdays Online: Meet our 'Newest' Camera Family Member

I say 'newest' because it is not a new camera at all.  Just joining us for the first time.  I have a wonderful neighbor that has given us a lot of darkroom equipment, including the Beautiful Durst Enlarger.  The B&J Press Camera is the latests item to take that walk across the street:

So Donald has the 4X5 camera that he's been wanting.  Me, I'm sticking with Medium Format, but cause I ain't hiking a 4X5 (and the heavier tripod it requires) any where!

Saturdays Online: Remember the Filter Factor .........

Some how it had escaped me that Rangefinders DO NOT meter through the lens that is making the image.  So I had some exposure problems using my darker filters.  SO today I am doing Filter Factor Exposure Tests for the Mamiya-6, Mamiya-7 and Canonet:

So I invite you to now pick your poison!  Which Rangefinder would you start with?  Here are some Suggestions for Starter Cameras.........

Moose Fun in North Park

More Canonet images from our 4th of July Trip to North Park.  This time some Moose Fun!

Above taken from the Moose Overlook at State Forest State Park, in North Park.  Yes this looks like great moose habitat.  Although this trip was the first time we'd actually seen a Moose in North Park.  It is know as the Moose Capital of Colorado because there are supposed to be a lot here.  But they manage to hide quite well.
