The Weekly Volcano #4: Mount Ranier

Mt Ranier is one of America's most dangerous volcanoes, last erupting in 1894.  Located 54 miles (87km) SE of Seattle, Washington.  The City of Tacoma, south of Seattle, is built on old lahars (mud flows).  On clear days it dominates the skyline of these Cities.  With this Dramatic Sky we also begin another Series: Clouds

Donald had done some alpine mountaineers training on Mt Ranier and decided not to take up the sport after a month of dodging avalanches and glacial crevasses.  Always covered in snow and glaciers, these are late summer photos.
