The band was given the name by a Club Booking agent that had a degree in history. Apparently they were in the habit of making frequent name changes to increase bookings.
Also interesting that both Ian Anderson the leader of Jethro Tull ( The band ) and Martin Barre the guitarist are keen collectors of vintage cameras, particularly Leica's.
That is very interesting. I never gave thought to Jethro Tull being a real person.

These were still pulled by a team of horses when I was a younger boy. That's all they had.
