Almost a Lifetime.......Caribou #4

Well, if not a lifetime, you could spend multiple visits re-shooting these two buildings.  We plan to return with less harsh light and also to do some full moon photography here.

The second smaller building shown here, has all 4 walls still standing.  You may notice, however, the smooth concrete inside providing stability.

Caribou Mine #3

The previous image had been cropped, although I did  not show the before and after.  Here I will show both:

One advantage of Medium and larger formats is that you have the resolution to 'zoom in by cropping'.  Above the crop and below the full frame.

Exploring Colorado Ghost Towns: Getting Closer

We are out today looking at more Colorado Ghost Towns.  That will be our Photography Focus for the rest of the Summer and into the Fall.

Here we get closer to the Window on the East Portal House:

Both images are cropped for te Mamiya 645.  Above a tighter crop and probably the better image to print; Below I do like the grass, but perhaps there is too much going on.

Denver in the Dark.....Cropped Again

Some people crop in the camera.  I obvious do most of my cropping after the fact.    One way you capture it all and sort it out later; the other way you are more selective at the start, but you could also miss some interesting detail that you didn't see initially.

Often there are legitimate reasons for printing it either way...........
