Wednesday Windows......Getting Started with a New Series

I follow the Thursday Doors posting on Twitter and Wordpress.  But I am more of a Window person and I found a Wednesday Windows Twitter Group.  So I'm picking this up as a new posting series.

My Take on Windows may be a bit different from the usual postings by the group.  But let's go!

I'll start with a Favorite Window from the Past........

Saturdays Online: Let's Go Retro!

With all of our satellite connectivity, let's go retro and remember the first photo ever taken from space.

And to think that it all began when?  Well you'll have to read the article to find out...........

Let's continue the Retro Revisit and consider how early spy satellites returned their film (yes film) to Earth.  And while we are at it, Lets Celebrate the 42 year history of Landsat Program!  The most successful long term project in NASA History........

Another view through a Window.  This time at the larger building:

Well, if not a lifetime, you could spend multiple visits re-shooting these two buildings.  We plan to return with less harsh light and also to do some full moon photography here.

The second smaller building shown here, has all 4 walls still standing.  You may notice, however, the smooth concrete inside providing stability.

One advantage of Medium and larger formats is that you have the resolution to 'zoom in by cropping'.  Above the crop and below the full frame.

XD-11: Ghost Signs

Many of the old industrial buildings in Downtown Denver have what I call "Ghost Signs" that reveal their past.  Most are now lofts and condos........Donald and I have decided to start documenting these sign that reveal Denver's industrial past.

Stanley Hotel......Room Without a View

Our room overlooked the parking lot and out buildings. The Bath had what I call a Spider Web Window. Does anyone know the official architectural name?

In color because I had run out of B&W film. But below I converted the image to B&W in Photoshop. I think that you will see that the rock formations in the background really pop out in B&W. I think the red roofs distract from the rocks in color..... Enlarge the pictures to see the rocks better.......
