  2. The Feb 1 post is very Ansel Adams; he did a series on plants; 645 beats digital.

  3. Bill,

I was very bad about writing down the names (also very few were actually labeled). But I am a cacti-succulent afficionado, so I can easily track down that information and I'll post it.

    John,

I'll have to look up Ansel's plants. Most of my gardening posts have been color, but I want to do more with B&W folliage, etc. Look for more in the spring. And I asm liking my 645, decided not to move up to 4X5, but I am still interested in getting a good panorama camera.

  4. Kathleen,
I haven't commented lately, but I have been following your San Diego Botanical Garden posts with great pleasure. They are lovely photographs. I have been considering a medium format film camera, but haven't made a decision on a Mamiya or Pentax, 6 x 7 or 645. Decisions, decisions!

  5. Greetings!

I was toying with moving up to 4X5 (because my neighbor gave me his professional 4X5 enlarger). But I looked at my medium format photos and decided I already had the right balance between resolution (i.e. larger negatives) and convenience.

I like the 645 because it has a rectangular format similar to what I was used to with 35mm. But you always need a tripod. I have not fugured out a good way to hand hold it. The 6X6 rangefinder is a bit harder for me to adjust to, but a much easier camera to used (can be easily hand held) and transport. My last major camera purchase will probably be a Mamiya 6X7, to return to the rectangular format I am more accustomed to.
