Brief Explanation

It has been a while since I've posted.  Hadn't plannned on telling you this, but since it affecting my blog activities, I've decided to tell you.  Recently I was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer.  Not going to die, nothing like that.  But because of the seriousness of the case, I am undergoing agressive treatment which leaves me out of it for several days at a time, and I play catch up with everthing.  My journey will last several months, and I shall have to be as strong and tall as my favorite trees:

  1. You are in my thoughts and prayers Kathleen!

Four years ago I was diagnosed with skin cancer and by God's grace I am still here today and still going strong.

This picture of the trees (Redwoods?) is almost spiritual in it's majesty. Great viewpoint to have photographed them, and either the film or the post processing has made them look almost other worldly. Just lovely!

  2. As a photographer(and vintage camera lover) who enjoys reading your blog, I wanted to send good thoughts your way for a complete recovery!

A blogger/podcaster friend of mine in Ottawa recently beat the disease, and she drew strength for her large circle of friends, online and in the physical world, and I'm sure your readers will support you every step of the way.

  3. Fight the cancer, but never let it become the most important thing in your life, because it is not. Have faith.

  4. Anything one says is inadequate, but fingers crossed for a good recovery.

  5. Thanks for all of your support. I have decided definitely not to dwell on the disease, although that's what the system here promotes.

I'll finish my dark room this Fall (starts today right?), and am rededicating myself to B&W.

As for this image, I was testing my fisheye lens. The perspective and Sepia Toning make the image.
