Waiting for More Snow........

On the final day of January, we await our second major snow storm. And while we wait for the film from that storm, we look back at our early January Snow:

52 Rolls: Week#2 Part 1

Had a very successful second roll of film in the Holgas.  So I'll have more than just the usual Wednesday Posting.  We took a walk along Coal Creek, part of the extensive Parks and Open Spaces system in our County:

Saturdays Online: The Coolest Business Cards

Take a look at what Kodak Execs are using for Business Cards.  Obviously film is alive and well in some circles at Kodak.  It would be nice if they would share more insight and products with us too!

So I'm curious, how many of you have Photography Cards?  I won't call them business cards, because you may or may not classify your self as a professional?

We carry cards as an easy way to have a personal 'business' card for follow-up contacts with people I meet through photography:

And where can I get one of those coolest cards?  Maybe I'll try making one? So what's in your wallet?

Saturdays Online: Another Blast from the Past

Yale Releases Farm Administration Photos........170,0000.  Another Advantage of the Analog Process.  Also the reason the National Park Service recently advertised for a 4X5 Film Photographer.  There is just no guarantee your digital photo will be around in 100 years.  But even a poorly stored photograph or negative has a good chance of being around.

Storms on the Horizon

Waiting for our next snow storm tonight.  Although it seems to have fizzled.  But we could be surprised in the morning:

Camera test of my recently acquired XD-11.  More on that later..........

New Year's Goals for Photography 2016

Looking back at 2015, I've decided that these goals will remain in force....because I still haven't made much progress with them.......

2015 Resolutions:  If at first you don't Succeed, Try, try Again!
  1. Spending More Time in the Darkroom
  2. Finally learning how to make good digital negatives (got a book for Christmas)
  3. Building a LED-UV light box for Alternative processes
  4. Solargram in the Front yard (Missed the Winter Solstice, but I'll try for the Spring Equinox)
Spending more time in the darkroom is the BIG priority for 2016.  The only thing I'll add are the two Weekly photo challenges, which I also challenge you to consider:

52 Week Photography Challenge from Dogwood Photography

Saturdays Online: Holga vs Woca? What's the Difference?

I have both a Holga and a Woca:

Holga....All Plastic including the lens.  For a Summary of Holga Models check out this blog.

The Woca, a version with a cheap glass lens.  Nominally supposed to be sharper.  Hmmmm, I should probably test that theory since I have both.

Hope your New Year is off to a great start.  In the next week we shall review my Photo Resolutions from last year, and set new ones for this year. What are your photographic goals for 2016?

By the way, Not too late to join the 52 Rolls Project.

Also, here's another 52 Week Photography Challenge.  I'm going to try to combine them both.......I fid that I work best when I have clear objectives/assignments.

Following up the theme of the 52 Rolls 2016 Project, Here is a post from out friend the Phoblographer offering multiple sources of Information for the first time film user.

Also, Amazon announced that Film was the Best Selling Photo Gift Product this holiday season.  Way to go Analog Photo Bugs!

Yes it's been altered in Photoshop, but anything Digital can do, Film can do Better!
